I am recovering from two retinal surgeries, so reading internet is slow going. I had a lens removed and it will not be replaced until spring. I wear an eyepatch to make reading easier.
Right now I am working through vintage issues of National Geographic - mostly from the Carter and Reagan era. The photojournalism strikes the right mix of educational and aesthetic. I’m a big Soviet Union buff and it’s interesting how events in the Soviet Union inform every story from this period.
April 1981 issue (will post a scan when I have time) had stories contrasting Ireland with Northern Ireland, including pictures of daily life in Northern Ireland.
